As someone just slightly taller than her husband, Tessie knew she wanted to wear flat bridal shoes on their wedding day. Remind yourself as often as possible throughout the day to look around and take it all in – what you see, what you smell, how you feel. I lost count of how many times I was told about how fast the day passes, and I didn’t want to look back on my wedding and only remember a blur. I made a conscious effort to remind myself every second to just experience what was happening. Now, looking back, I can give you a play-by-play of everything that happened and can look at the photos and remember exactly how I felt in that moment."
